We've been talking about attempting to take the boys to a movie for a while now but hadn't gotten the courage to do so. When I heard about the free tickets through Disney Movie rewards to see Monsters, Inc. in theater (a favorite in our house) I decided it'd be a good choice, that way if the kids were unruly we wouldn't lose any money on our tickets and be sad we missed the ending since we had seen it before (100 times). I had a friend from high school even send me her voucher.
A few days after Christmas I get a text from my friend Rachel that said they were going to go see Monsters, Inc. 3D and they have plenty of tickets for us to come join them... so I figured might as well. I got the boys dressed and ready and Dallas met me at the Norterra theatre to help me manage the boys. We got there just as the movie was going to start and after the wait to get or tickets we headed first to the concession stand. As this point I was on Griffin duty and he just wanted down and to run, run run. So Dallas asked if I wanted a break since he was watching lil D who was nicely standing next to him and guess what happens... Lil D gets curious and wants to check everything out and Griffin nicely lays his head on his daddy's shoulder.. ARRGGHHH, haha.
Once we finally got to our seats, Grif sat nicely in his own seat with his child's tray of popcorn and Hi-C and lil D sat on his daddy's lap eating his popcorn too. They both did a pretty great job while the movie was on although towards the end they got a little restless. All in all I would call it a success.. but I'm not sure I'm going to run to try it again :)
I enjoy our outings with our lil baby friends and we were happy to see Rachel and her twin Heather who was in town from Austin, TX. Thanks again for having us ladies!
