[Daddy Blog] To My Family

To my wonderful family,

As I’m sitting on an airplane with some time to myself I thought I’d share a few thoughts and feelings that I’m having at the moment. First of all I’m crazy in love with both of you. I’m reading the book “Chicken soup for the Father and son” on my ipad kindle app, and the stories within it are striking a ton of emotions. I was just recalling your mother and I’s life together before either of you were in it. We prepared for life with you by building our relationship with each other, and we took careful steps to prepare ourselves for pregnancy and the delivery of you both.

Here are just a few memorable moments that I’ll never forget:

Sitting in our labor preparation class before Dallas was born. Learning how to comfort Jen and learning what to expect once it all began.

The moment I first saw you both. It’s a moment that is indescribable, and completely took my breathe away.

Learning how to be a better husband to your mother with children in our lives.

Learning how to be a better member of the family on both my side and your mothers side, with children in it.

Every time your little smiles or cute faces melted my heart, and made me understand how powerful the love for your own child really is.

The deliveries of each of you. Dallas’s was a lengthy and challenging process, and how suprised we were when the delivery of Griffin went so fast and practically effortless (maybe just for me, but certainly not for your mother).

The adaptations that had to be made to properly care for something so small and helpless.


These are just a few that stick out, but only touch the surface of all the memories I’ve created with both of you. Every day is an adventure with you, and watching you grow is the most rewarding experience I’ve ever been a part of. I love you both, and I look forward to all the adventures that lie ahead for us!
